Recyclables (blue cart) and yard waste (green cart) are collected weekly on the same day as garbage is collected. Be sure containers are placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on collection day.
Accepts metal pots & pans, cookie sheets, canning jar lids and miscellaneous incidental metal that easily fits into the recycling cart or bin. No large pieces like BBQs, auto parts or construction rebar. No small pieces like nails or bottle caps.
Un-flocked natural Christmas trees are compostable. Trees must be cut to size to fit in your organics cart or bin and fall freely when emptied. Customers may also take compostable trees to the Golden Bear Transfer Station for free disposal through the first weekend in February. Proof of residency is required. Disposal fees apply to non-compostable trees. Flocked trees are not compostable and should be cut to size and placed in your brown cart. Look for more information about the Christmas tree recycling program in the mail before the holidays.
Items made of cast iron, stainless steel, carbon steel, alloy and tool steel may be placed in the recycling cart or bin. Items must fit loosely in the recycling cart or bin and fall freely when it is emptied. No small pieces like nails or bottle caps.
Only recycle if there is not another local vendor that accepts them for reuse or art supplies. If they have lights or sing, and you cannot reuse them, put them in the brown bin.

Must be clean and without greasy residue to be marketable. Plastic bags, plastic film and plastic wrapping must be tightly bagged within a plastic bag.

Small pieces of unpainted/untreated wood may be placed in the organics cart or bin with other organic materials. Pieces should be cut to fit and will fall freely when cart is emptied.
Place all yard waste directly into your organics cart or bin. Do not place any materials in plastic bags. Organics carts and bins with non-compostable materials are subject to extra disposal charges. Acceptable materials include yard trimmings, grass trimmings, leaves and flowers, pine needles, weeds, untreated wood and organics. Organics include food scraps and waste, and food-soiled paper. These all go in the organics cart or bin. DO NOT put palm, bamboo, lawn sod, ivy, painted or treated wood, manure, pet waste, hot ashes or briquettes, dirt, rock or sand in the organics container.
